The College of Engineering is an academic department at the University of Illinois at Chicago offering both undergraduate and graduate programs of study. ==History== The College of Engineering predates the current campus, having been founded in 1946 at the Navy Pier campus.〔(University Archives - Engineering History )〕 The college is recognized for its academic excellence with undergraduate and graduate programs in six academic departments.〔(University of Illinois - College of Engineering )〕 The College has 125 faculty members: two members of the National Academy of Engineering; 53 are Fellows of their professional societies; 26 are National Science Foundation CAREER or Presidential Young Investigator Award winners; and, more than 10 are editors of major research journals. Research programs in the college have grown rapidly over the years and are conducted in 6 departments and 7 interdisciplinary centers. During FY2014, the total research expenditure for the College of Engineering was more than +$22 million. The college currently has over 150 funded projects totaling $65.4 million. Most importantly, our faculty have received over 35 teaching awards since 2005.
